Between 29th January and 9th February 2024, HUN-REN RCAES Geographical Institute hosts Faruk Çam, lecturer at Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Turkey. His PhD research is about environmental migration and its relation to urban. Besides, he researches the Ukrainian refugees in Turkey, focusing on the daily lives of Ukrainian refugees in Manisa and Aydin provinces. During his two-week-long visit, supported by the Erasmus+ program, Faruk Çam consults the members of the HUN-REN RCAES GI Research Group on Ethnic, Political Geography and Migration. The visit provides the opportunity to consult the members of the Research Group dealing with migration from Ukraine, Ágnes Erőss, Patrik Tátrai and Katalin Kovály and to learn about the legal and social status of the Ukrainian refugees in Turkey and Hungary.
On 30th January, Faruk Çam presented his first results, which were followed by a lively Q&A session.

Transnational Family Dynamics in Europe (TraFaDy) is a network based on the Cost Action 21143 and aims to deepen the knowledge of the growing, rapidly changing phenomenon and dynamics of Transnational Families.
The second General Meeting took place from 20 to 22 November 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey. It was hosted by the Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University (Istanbul, Turkey). During the General Meeting several meetings took place.
Faruk Çam participated to the meetings of WG3 Social Rights and Social Protection and WG5 Methodological Issues, Research and Data.
Belgrade, Serbia
Faruk Çam visited Center for Demographic Research at the Institute of Social Sciences between the dates of 13th and 23rd of October, 2023. He presented the results of his interviews which were conducted regarding the daily lives of Ukrainian Refugees in Turkey.
He was invited as a speaker for the seminar series along with another presentation which was about the Ukrainian Refugees' situatin in Slovenia.
The event has been finalized with the questions from the participants.
University of LjubLjana
In April 2024, he was a guest lecturer at the University of LjubLjana Department of Sociology.
He gave a lecture on the history migration in Turkey. Duirin his lecture, he covered to topics of emigration and immigration in Turkey, migration policies, thhe influence of European Union to the migration policies, current refugee movements and their characteristics.
The lecture ended with an enriching discussion session during which participants were able to discuss their perspectives on the topics.
